Biography

Dr. David Osser is associate professor of Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School, at the Brockton Division of the Veterans Affairs (VA) Boston Healthcare System. There he is the attending psychiatrist for the Domiciliary Residential Treatment Program for Homeless Veterans. He is also a consulting psychiatrist in the VA National Bipolar Telemedicine Program and has assessed over 800 patients with treatment-resistant bipolar disorders.

He has published over 100 academic products with various collaborators, including the book Psychopharmacology: A Concise Overview for Students and Clinicians, a website with seven algorithms (www.psychopharm.mobi), original articles, reviews, courses, decision-support software, and abstracts.

Dr. Osser is on the editorial boards of the Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology, Psychiatric Times, Bulletin of Clinical Psychopharmacology and the Model Curriculum for Psychopharmacology of the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology, to which he contributed (with collaborators) 13 Powerpoint lectures. He does ad-hoc reviewing for 18 other publications.

He was the recipient of the 2012 Research Mentorship Award given jointly by the American Psychiatric Association and the American Association of Chairs of Departments of Psychiatry. In 2015 he received the Stuart T. Hauser Mentorship Award in Psychiatry, selected by the Psychiatry Executive Committee of Harvard Medical School.
