Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 August 2026
Psychopharmacology Institute is a platform operated by Psych Campus, LLC. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use psychopharmacologyinstitute.com, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
We only ask for personal information when we genuinely need it, and we collect it with your knowledge.
1. What we collect
When you create an account or take out a membership
- Your name and email address
- Your payment details — see section 4, because we never see or store your card number
- Your profession and licence type, where you tell us, so we can issue the right kind of CME credit
- Your membership tier and its dates
As you use the content
- Which publications and lectures you have opened, and your progress through them
- Your quiz attempts and scores
- The CME certificates you have earned, and their completion dates
We keep this because it is what a CME certificate is based on. If a licensing board or your employer queries a credit, this record is the evidence.
Automatically, when you visit
- Your IP address, browser and device type
- The pages you visit and how you arrived
- Cookies and similar technologies — see section 6
When you contact us
- Your message and our replies
- Anything you enter into a form on the site
2. What we use it for
- Giving you access to your membership content and keeping that access working
- Issuing your CME certificates and credits
- Sending you receipts, renewal notices and messages about your membership
- Answering your support questions
- Sending you our newsletter, if you have asked for it
- Understanding how the site is used, so we can improve it
- Meeting our obligations as an accredited CME provider
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Our legal basis for using it
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, we are required to tell you the legal ground we rely on for each purpose.
| What we do | Our legal basis |
|---|---|
| Running your membership — access, receipts, renewals | Performance of a contract with you |
| Issuing CME certificates and keeping the record behind them | Legal obligation, and our legitimate interest in meeting accreditation requirements |
| Answering your support questions | Performance of a contract, or our legitimate interest in helping you |
| Sending newsletters and educational emails | Your consent, which you may withdraw at any time |
| Understanding site usage, and keeping the platform secure | Our legitimate interest in providing and protecting the service |
| Keeping payment, tax and accounting records | Legal obligation |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, those interests are: providing and improving the service you asked for, keeping the platform secure and free of fraud, and being able to evidence the CME credit we have issued. We have considered your rights in each case. You may object — see section 11.
Do you have to give us this information? Your name, email address and payment details are necessary to provide a membership; without them we cannot open an account, take payment, or issue a certificate in your name. Everything else, including your profession, is optional — if you leave it out we may not be able to issue a particular type of credit, but your account works normally.
4. Payments, renewals and cancellation
Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. Your card details go directly to them and are handled under their security standards.
We never receive, see or store your full card number. We keep the record of the transaction — what you bought, when, for how much, and the last four digits of the card.
Memberships renew automatically unless you turn renewal off or cancel. To support that, our payment provider holds a secure token that lets us take the renewal without us ever handling your card number.
You can cancel or turn off automatic renewal at any time from your account, or by emailing us. When you cancel, we keep the record of what you bought and any certificates you earned — see section 10.
5. Email, newsletters, and changing your address
We send educational newsletters and updates to people who have asked to receive them. We only send them to an address whose owner has given us permission, and permission given for one address is never treated as covering another.
You decide which emails you receive. Use the “change your contact details” or Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email to update your preferences or stop them altogether.
Because your consent is attached to your email address, we cannot change your marketing preferences on your behalf, and we cannot move a subscription from one address to another — the change has to come from you, through that link. This protects you too: it means nobody else can subscribe you, or alter what you receive, using your address.
Changing the address you sign in with is separate. If you ask us, we will change it. That moves where your receipts and membership notices go, but it does not change your email preferences.
Unsubscribing from the newsletter does not affect emails about your membership, payments or certificates. Those are not marketing.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your progress, and understand how the site is used.
- Essential cookies keep you logged in and your progress saved. The site cannot work without them
- Analytics cookies tell us which pages are visited and where visitors come from
- Advertising cookies let us show our content to people who have visited before, and measure whether our advertising works
Where the law in your country requires it, a banner asks which of these you accept before any analytics or advertising cookies are set, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time. Essential cookies are always on — without them you cannot stay signed in. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
7. Who else handles your information
We use a small number of outside service providers to run the platform. Each receives only what it needs to do its job, acts on our instructions, and is bound by a written agreement covering how your data is handled.
| Category of provider | What they receive |
|---|---|
| Payment processing | Your payment details and purchase amount |
| Email delivery and newsletters | Your name and email address |
| Customer support tools | Your email address and the content of your messages |
| Website hosting, security and content delivery | Data stored on or passing through the site |
| Analytics | Site activity and IP address |
| Advertising and measurement | Site activity and identifiers used to show and measure our own advertising |
| Our accreditation partner | Your name, profession and course completions, so credit can be issued |
These are service providers acting on our instructions — not companies buying data from us.
If you would like to know which specific providers we use, write to us and we will tell you.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our legal rights.
8. Automated processing
We do not use automated systems to make decisions about your account, your membership, your access, your certificates or your credits. Those decisions are made by people.
We may use automated tools to help sort and prioritise incoming messages so they reach the right person faster. Where we do, a member of our team remains responsible for the answer you receive.
No automated system decides anything about you that has a legal or similarly significant effect.
9. Security
Your data is transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored on secured servers. Access is restricted to those who need it. We never send passwords by email — if you need to reset yours, we send a link so you can choose your own.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your personal information, we will tell you.
10. How long we keep it
- CME records, completions and certificates — kept indefinitely. Accreditation requires us to be able to evidence credit, and you may need to prove it to a board many years later
- Account details — kept while your account exists, and afterwards only where attached to a CME or financial record
- Payment records — kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require
- Support conversations — kept while they remain useful for helping you, then deleted
- Newsletter subscription — kept until you unsubscribe. We keep a minimal record of the unsubscribe itself, so we do not contact you again by mistake
- Analytics — kept in aggregate, not tied to your name
Cancelling a membership does not immediately erase your record. Your certificates and completions stay with us, so you can still obtain a copy and so we can evidence the credit.
11. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete your information
- Send you a copy in a portable, machine-readable format
- Restrict what we do with it while a dispute about accuracy or our legitimate interests is resolved
- Object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests, and to marketing at any time
- Withdraw your consent where we relied on it. Withdrawing does not undo anything done lawfully beforehand
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, these rights come from the GDPR, and you may also complain to your national data protection authority.
If you are in California, the CCPA and CPRA give you the right to know what we collect, to have it deleted or corrected, to limit our use of sensitive personal information, and not to be treated differently for exercising any of those rights. In the last 12 months we have collected the categories set out in section 1: identifiers, commercial information, internet activity and professional information. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising.
If you are in Brazil, the LGPD gives you equivalent rights, and you may contact the ANPD. If you are in Turkey, the KVKK gives you equivalent rights under its Article 11.
To exercise any of these, email support@psychopharmacologyinstitute.com. We will respond within the period the law allows. We may need to confirm your identity first — usually by asking you to write from the address on your account — so that nobody else can obtain or delete your information.
One limit worth being honest about: if you ask us to delete everything, we may have to keep the minimum record of a CME certificate we issued, because accreditation requires us to evidence it. We will tell you if that applies, and keep only what is necessary.
12. Children
Our content is professional education for qualified and trainee clinicians. The site is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. International transfers
We are based in the United States, and your information is stored and processed there. Our team also works from Argentina, so your information may be accessed from there.
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, that means your information leaves your own country, and we are required to tell you how we make that lawful:
- To the United States — we rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, which are built into our agreements with our service providers. Where a provider is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, that certification applies instead
- To Argentina — Argentina is recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection, so no additional safeguard is required
If you are in Brazil or Turkey, the same applies: your information is transferred to the United States and may be accessed from Argentina, protected by contractual safeguards with each provider.
You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards that apply to a particular transfer.
14. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you directly rather than relying on you to notice.
15. Contact us
The company responsible for your information — the “data controller” — is:
Psych Campus, LLC 30 N Gould St, Ste 9826 Sheridan, WY 82801 United States
