- Propranolol, a beta-blocker, is the first-line treatment for akathisia, and the dose will be dependent on each population.
- Anticholinergics for drug-induced EPS symptoms will be required for as long as the patient is on the primary agent causing the side effect. None of them has a greater efficacy over the other.
