Biography

Dr. Katie Unverferth is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at UCLA, specializing in reproductive psychiatry and women’s mental health. She serves as Director of the UCLA Women’s Life Center and as Medical Director of the UCLA Maternal Mental Health Program.

Her academic contributions include developing the psychiatry component of the UCLA Comprehensive Menopause Program and creating the PMDD module for the National Curriculum for Reproductive Psychiatry. She also serves as Faculty Lead for the UCLA Women’s Mental Health Concentration and is a national examiner for the National Curriculum for Reproductive Psychiatry skills examination.

Dr. Unverferth earned her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her psychiatry residency at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, where she also served as Chief Resident in Reproductive Psychiatry.
