Diana Martinez, M.D.

Biography

Dr. Diana Martinez is a psychiatrist who specializes in drug addiction research. She is originally from Texas, and moved to New York City for medical school. She attended Weill Cornell Medical College and completed her residency in psychiatry at New York Hospital.

She has since pursued a career in academic research, which has focused on the neuroscience of compulsive drug use. More recently, her research has moved into repurposing drugs to treat refractory disorders, such as ketamine to treat tinnitus (chronic ringing in the ears), or cannabis for painful neuropathy.
