Who accredits Psychopharmacology Institute’s CME activities?
All CME activities from Psychopharmacology Institute are offered through a joint providership with Medical Academy LLC, which is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for physicians. This means that the educational activities you complete on our platform have been planned and implemented according to ACCME’s rigorous standards for continuing medical education.
Medical Academy LLC is the accredited provider recognized by ACCME, and Psychopharmacology Institute partners with them to deliver content that meets these high educational standards.
Who can earn AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™?
–Physicians (MD/DO) can earn AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ by successfully completing eligible CME activities on this platform.
–Nurses and nursing professionals: The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ as Contact Hours, where 1 CME equals 1 Contact Hour. Psychopharmacology Institute
–Physician Assistants: Depending on the state and certification body, PA organizations may accept AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ toward their continuing education requirements. It’s recommended to check with your specific certifying board or licensing authority for state-by-state requirements.
How do these credits work for self-assessments (MOC)?
Some activities, such as our Self-Assessment Programs, have been reviewed and approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) as part of the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) process. This means that in addition to earning AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™, eligible physicians may also earn MOC Self-Assessment credits where applicable.
Are AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ accepted outside the United States?
Yes, physicians outside the United States can earn AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for activities accredited through an ACCME-accredited provider. Many international boards and professional bodies recognize or have reciprocal agreements for these credits, especially in regions like Europe and Canada. However, acceptance varies by country and regulator, so you should check with your local licensing board or professional authority to confirm how these credits are accepted in your jurisdiction.
Are your CMEs valid for pharmacists?
We offer CME credits, these are valid for physicians and nursing professionals. We don’t offer CPE credits at the moment.
Are your CMEs valid for nursing professionals?
The American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts the CME credits we provide for recertification purposes. Here is an excerpt from the ANCC’s website:

Are your CMEs valid for psychologists as CE?
We offer CME credits, these are valid for physicians and nursing professionals. We don’t offer CE credits for the moment.
What is Medical Academy LLC?
Medical Academy LLC jointly sponsors our CME activities. Since 2019, Medical Academy has had full provider accreditation status from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).
